How to play Spider Solitaire
Choose a round of Spider Solitaire and settle into its rules. Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. Use the example below to understand a decision. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.
Two decks, one/two/four suits; fill every column before a ten-card stock deal. Free solo play, no wagering.
Make the controls familiar
Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.
Your goal
Complete eight same-suit king-to-ace runs. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Take a moment to understand the current position.
Step by step
- Build down by rank. Only descending same-suit groups move together. Empty columns accept any movable group.
- Select a face-up card and then the destination pile or Empty slot.
- Use foundations where available; full Spider or Scorpion runs clear automatically.
- Undo reverses a choice. New deal shuffles again.
Controls
Click or tap cards and piles. Wide tableaus scroll inside the game; use Undo, Hint and New deal where shown. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. A new-round button replaces the current round.
A useful example
A mixed-suit descending stack cannot move as one group. Focus on why the action is allowed, not only its outcome. Verify the rule before continuing.
Watch out for this
Random deals are not guaranteed solvable. A hint is a legal move, not a winning strategy. Compare the situation with the worked example. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
