How to play Pinball

Open Pinball, check the instructions and begin a round. Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. Use the example below to understand a decision. Use the opening round to become familiar with the layout. Look at what changes after your first action.

Original compact two-flipper table with three bumpers.

Try a deliberate move

After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Keep the controls in easy reach.

Step by step

  1. Start to launch.
  2. Use the two flippers.
  3. Bumper collisions score.
  4. Launch remaining balls after a drain.

Controls

Hold Left/Right flipper or arrow keys. Start / pause and New round are available. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

Activate the flipper when the ball reaches its active surface. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Keep the controls nearby.

Watch out for this

A drained ball cannot be rescued. A different version of the game may use a different rule. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
